Harriet’s FUNdraising Extravaganza!!!

Hi!! It’s me, Harriet!!! You know, the resident rooster who resides in WRP? You may remember me for wearing some super cute accessories for certain holidays, or for ALWAYS being open for a photo op with some WRP fans! Well, I’m still here!!

I know what you’re thinking: “Harriet, it’s been a year and a half since WRP closed. How do you still look so pretty???” Well, thank you 🥰 But I have to give credit to our wonderful photographer Chris Douglas for snapping these of me! (And maybe using a filter or two… Hey! No shame!!)

Selfie time!! 🙂

Ok, so maybe you’re asking another question: “Harriet, why are you writing me this letter? (And how? You don’t have hands)”

I’ve spent the past year and a half at WRP (alone – just a reminder) so I know what this place has been through. And let me tell you, the pandemic has not been kind to WRP 😥

To put it bluntly, this place is old! And we love our old dairy barn, but old things break, not matter how well you take care of them!!

We are nearing the completion of our Multi-Function Room, finally!! (Well, I’ve been told – I’m too big to go down the stairs 😊) However, as we were working on the final touches – our water heater broke! Amongst other issues such as gravel and electrical problems, which luckily we were able to handle. However…. We still don’t have a water heater, and were literally about to reopen WRP too 😤

So… fun and games and emojis aside, we need help. Once again, we have to ask our community for donations to finish these renovations and make sure WRP is as sparkling, polished, and beautiful as its ever been for your return!

Our goal is $2000 in two weeks!! That’s less than $150 a day!

Our empty stage 🙁

I mean, not that it isn’t beautiful! Especially since the floor got a makeover. I’ve just been staring at this thing for way too long, waiting for actors and crew to be on it again!!

Drywall Fundraiser

I mean look at this place!! It’s already completely different than the basement that we used to have! We’re so close to finishing this project, like I can almost taste the drywall!! (…ew!)

Ok so first, the drywall. We need about 38 pieces to finish out Multi-Function room, and they cost about $15 each. Why is this a problem?

Well, I whipped out my Rooster Calculator to do some quick math. When we began these renovations in 2019, and many of you beautiful people donated to it, a sheet of drywall was about $9. But now it’s $15 a sheet!! For those like me who aren’t super savvy with math, that is way more than it would’ve cost, had the pandemic not halted our progress!

So who wants to sponsor a piece of drywall?? 🤩🤩 While maybe the not most glamorous of fundraisers, each $15 donation and therefore piece of drywall gets us one step (or one wall) closer to finishing our Multi-Function Room! With this final extension of The Barn complete, we’ll be able to use this room for camps, classes, extra rehearsals, meetings… I can keep going!

Each sheet will be a $15 dollar donation, and we’re looking to have at least 38 donors! If you help us out, you’ll be a part of WRP history for, like, all of history!!

New Water Heater

Aside from the drywall project, we also need donors for our new water heater! Don’t worry, we’re not expecting you to shell out $500 per donation (unless… 👀). Instead, we’re hoping to get 50 people to donate just $10 each. It takes a village, after all! And just look at this beauty – we’d love to have hot water again! (Especially me, thank you very much! I do live here, after all… 💅)

The water heater we’re looking at is currently listed at $450 – however, the price range could go up to $510 depending on the local stock. This isn’t including installation fees as well! So yes, this is a big purchase for WRP, so any donation is insanely appreciated!! 💙

Isn’t this thing such a beauty?? It’s so sleek and shiny and… water-heatery!!

So, what do you get if you sponsor a piece of drywall, help for a new drywall, or have donated in the past for WRP? Does our endless appreciation and love count? …No?

Well then, we’ll also make sure that your name and/or organization is proudly proclaimed on an exciting piece of art commissioned for the new Multi-Function Room by Walter Kaminski, a local Bath Artist! Walter has done so much FAN-TASTIC work for us here at WRP, including helping us design the look for our front doors!!

We’d love to have you here, in-person, to sign this piece of art when it’s ready and OF COURSE, when it’s safe and healthy to be together! This will be allowed when we have our final unveiling of the new space. Yes, that’s right, your John Hancock will be a physical part of WRP history!!

Click the link below if you’d like to sponsor a piece of drywall or add to the water heater, THUS becoming a part of WRP history!!! Please specify your name/organization in the notes on the order, so we don’t mess up spelling or anything like that. Thank you so much for your support, consideration, love and being part of the WRP Family.

Get it? It’s like a piece of drywall!!! Lol

(and the humans of WRP)

#nofilter …..kinda 😂💙

P.S. So I’m being told that I’m not the first person to think of the “putting FUN into FUNdraising” pun. Well, that’s ok, because I’m pretty sure I’m the first ROOSTER to think of it! 🐓
